This is common, a lot of people didn't understand from the docs that they had 
to set the control files to point to the location of a program that did this, 
and because of this, and a failure to gracefully handle this condition, this 
occured.  However, with this release that will all be moot, as the country 
code lookup and mail exchange lookup code has all been moved into the main 
smptd code.  I would advise waiting a few days, and trying out the new 
release.  It still uses an external program for SMTP auth, but is a lot 
cleaner now.  Also, lot's of little bug fixes..
