Re: [magicmail-users] install

SMTP AUTH is not the primary purpose for magic-smtpd, however support for SMTP
Authentication has always been a goal, and is supported in the commercial
version. (I have to look again at the status of this in the opensource
version) But first off, your other issue, you will have to create the
/etc/magic-mail/control directory, in order to take full advantage of the
program. Docs were definitely a weak point in versions up to now, and is
being worked on as we speak. Read the INSTALL document for some of the
control file syou should use. Control files affects the authorization, the
valid user checking program and other user defined options whihc bring out
teh advantages to magic-smtpd.

In the mean time, from the qmail page, you can reach links for smtp after pop,
which controls relaying at the TCPSERVER level, and that may help you.

If you need smtp authorization expressly, you need to have an authentication
mechanism, which has to be defined.
