RE: [magicmail-users] spam_check will not enable

Just for yucks, I turned per_user_spam_enable on. I get this:

User does not have spam checking enabled in
/etc/magic-mail/control//spam_users

This is the kind of inconsistency that's driving me nuts. The INSTALL file
says the spam_users folder defaults to /var/qmail/control/spam_users but the
log says otherwise. And then there's the double slash thing happening, I
assume that's a typo.

Anyway, I created a file for the user in spam_users. But what user name? The
email address is scott@networktoolware.com but qmail does that magic thing
so is the name it's looking for
networktoolware.com-scott@networktoolware.com or just
networktoolware.com-scott or the system user vpopmail?
I created files for every option I could think of in both
/etc/magic-mail/control/spam_users and /var/qmail/control/spam_users but I
still get the same response. It would help if the log gave the user name it
was looking for.

I sure hope this is worth the frustration once it's working. It will be
right?

As per item 9) in INSTALL
If you wish to have per system user spam checking enabled,
create a directory called spam_users in the directory specified
by the MSD_CONTROLDIR environment variable (which defaults
to /var/qmail/control). For each user that is to be allowed spam
checkingcreate a file corresponding to that user. ie. to allow spam
checking for all alias users:

        touch $MSD_CONTROLDIR/spam_users/alias

To enable per user spam checking, set MSD_PER_USER_SPAM_ENABLE
environment variable to 1.

So, to answer your question,yes...
Do you have a spam_users directory?
